Peptide testing and certificates of analysis

Every run is batch-tested by HPLC and MS, and the certificate is published against that lot. This page is about what that does and does not tell you, because a CoA is only useful if you can read it.

What gets tested

  • Identity — that the compound is what the label says it is.
  • Purity — measured by HPLC, reported as a percentage against the panel.
  • Mass confirmation — by MS, corroborating identity independently of the HPLC result.

What a certificate is tied to

A lot, not a product. Two runs of the same compound are two certificates, because they are two batches of material and the point of testing is to catch the one that differs.

Which is also why a certificate with no lot number on it is worth very little. If you are comparing suppliers, that is the first thing to check.

What it does not tell you

Nothing about what the compound does in a body. A certificate of analysis is a statement about the contents of a vial, and everything we supply is for laboratory research use only.

Common questions

Is a certificate of analysis provided with every order?
Yes. Every batch is tested by HPLC and MS and the certificate is published against that lot.
Is the certificate per product or per batch?
Per batch. Two runs of the same compound produce two certificates.
